Legal Metrology Office in Goa

All the states of India have offices of Legal Metrology in their respective states. The officers of Legal Metrology, such as the controller of legal metrology, inspector, etc., keep an eye on the manufacturer, importer, or packer of the commodity, checking out whether they are following the rules and regulations of the act and making proper compliance with the act.

The Legal Metrology Department has the power to provide the LMPC Certificate, and LMPC License, to the applicant. Just like all other states, Goa also has a legal metrology office that conducts the raid, inspects, and takes all other necessary actions in the interests of the public.

These are the subordinate offices in every state that help in the legal metrology system. However, Legal Metrology conducts its proper functions with the help of these offices, which are spread all over the state of Goa.

1. The entire functions of the legal metrology department in Goa are notified by the state government, which also set up the structure of the officers and the officers of legal metrology within the jurisdiction of Goa.

3. The secretary of IAS rank in the Legal Metrology government is the head of the department.

4. The controller with regard to the work of all the assistant controllers, inspectors, etc. concerning their duties as per the statutes, should submit their report through their respective assistant controllers.

There are a total of four subordinate offices of the assistant controller of legal metrology in Goa, which fall under Group B, with their respective offices allotted to them by the state government of Goa. The zonal offices of the assistant controller of legal metrology are given below:

Office of Assistant Controller Legal Metrology Goa

1. There are a total of nine offices of inspector of legal metrology spread over the talukas allotted to them on the issuance of the notification by the state government of Goa.

2. The inspector within their respective jurisdiction carries out their duties as per the statute enforced.

3. The officers with the designation as a laboratory assistant and manual assistant assisted the inspector of Legal Metrology under Group C and Group D of the act within their respective states.

4. Under the supervision of the assistant controller, the headquarters of the inspector and the talukas under their control act as mentioned below:

7. With Hqs. as Vasco, having jurisdiction over the Taluka of Mormugao.

8. With Hqs. as Curchorem having jurisdiction over the talukas of Quepem & Canacona.

9. With Hqs. as Sanguem, add English diction over the talukas of Sanguem.
